Dr. Mark LaBrie, D.V.M., Practice Owner
Mark LaBrie, D.V.M. graduated from veterinary school at Texas A&M University in 1982. Upon graduation Dr. LaBrie started his veterinary career at Alamo Dog & Cat Hospital as an associate veterinarian with Dr. Eric Lange. Dr. LaBrie purchased Alamo Dog & Cat Hospital from Dr. Lange in 1985 and has continued practicing since.Dr. LaBrie is currently a member of the AVMA, TVMA, and VMA
of Bexar County where he served as president in 1992.
Dr. LaBrie is married to wife, Susan, and has two teenage boys named Chris & Nick. He has a Golden Retriever named Bullet and two mixed breed dogs, Hound & Sugar. He also has a clinic cat named Frankie.
Dr. LaBrie enjoys the outdoors and is an avid fisherman and
scuba diver.

Dr. Rick Gaither, D.V.M., Associate
Veterinarian Richard
M. Gaither, D.V.M. graduated from Texas A&M University in
1970. Immediately following graduation he entered the U.S. Army
where he served in a variety of positions and locations worldwide.
Upon his retirement in 1998, he has practiced part-time at Alamo
Dog & Cat Hospital.
Dr. Gaither is an active member in several professional organizations
including, the AVMA and VMA of Bexar County. He is also the
proud parent of a German Wirehair Pointer named Calhoun and
a Yorkshire Terrier named Sasha.

Dr. Rae Dishinger, D.V.M., Associate
Veterinarian Rae
Dishinger, D.V.M. is a graduate of the University of Missouri
College of Veterinary Medicine. She grew up in St. Louis, but
relocated to the San Antonio area in June 2005 to join her fiancé,
Chris, a mechanical engineer at SWRI and our staff. Dr. Dishinger
enjoys both small animal medicine and surgery. She is a member
of the AVMA, TVMA, and the VMA of Bexar County.
Dr. Dishinger has two enthusiastic Labradors, Indy and Duke, as well as a geriatric guinea pig. In her free time, she enjoys fishing, kayaking, and camping.

Maria, Hospital Administrator
Throughout
the many passing years, Maria has seen it all. She began her
career as a part-time receptionist at a nearby competitor’s
practice, since then she has learned every aspect of the veterinary
medicine field and has been our Office Manager since December
1999. Maria also has her clan at home with more than a few dogs,
a couple of cats, and one horse that probably hasn’t been ridden
in more than a few years. |

Gina, Administrative Assistant
Gina
began working with our clinic since 2003 after earning a Bachelor’s
of Business Administration degree in Computer Information Systems
at the University of Texas at El Paso in May 2003. She maintains
all computer equipment – software and hardware throughout our
clinic. Although Gina does not have any pets (they only belong
to her husband), she does have a house full of critters (husband,
2 daughters and a son). |

Vicki, Head Veterinary Technician
Vicki has certainly seen it all, here at Alamo Dog & Cat Hospital. She has been here since 1978 minus a few years (she moved to Houston) during her husband’s collegiate years. Vicki has an Associates degree in Science that she earned at San Antonio College. She married her college sweetheart, moved to the country, and through the years has raised many dogs, cats, and small rodents. Most of all, Vicki has enjoyed being able to work for the same company long enough to see clients' pets grow and age gracefully throughout the years. |

Nick, Veterinary Technician

As a child, Nick was raised around various farm and domestic animals and found those experiences very enjoyable. He also found his life calling to work in veterinary medicine. Nick got started in the veterinary medicine field in 1990, where he started as a veterinary technician in a small and large mixed animal practice. He has worked at several practices in the San Antonio area which has allowed him to gain the necessary experience to know what it takes to become part of a great team here at “Alamo.”

June is a San Antonio native and has been part of our family since 2001. She has several animals including dogs, fish, two (2) kids, and a husband. Her clan and job keep her on her toes, however she enjoys every chaotic minute of it. June has a growing affinity for adorable smashed-face Boston Terriers. |

Alexis, Receptionist

Alexis is a “Southside” San Antonio native. She attended
Burbank High School and Palo Alto College. Alexis’s best qualities
are customer service and her love of big dogs. Among her crew
are two “Rotties” and a Chow. Alexis also has a husband and
two boys at home. Although Alexis has not worked here very
long, she loves the environment at Alamo Dog & Cat Hospital.
We are her second family. She believes that if you want quality
pet care, it is a must to come in and visit us.

Bianca,
Receptionist
Although she was born in San Antonio, Bianca has just recently moved back to San Antonio from a seven year stay in Corpus Christi. The “love of her life” is a Spaniel mix named “Ray,” who she rescued from the street. Ray is blink, deaf, and as sweet as sweet can be. Bianca is hoping to pursue a career as a Vet Tech, but also has dreams of opening an animal rehabilitation sanctuary. |

Anna Hernandez,
Receptionist
Personal Quote: “If your nice to me today, be nice to me tomorrow.”
Anna has been in the veterinary field since 1994. She just loves them funny animals. In the past 12 years, she has picked up over 40 stray animals and placed in homes. Throughout her life, Anna has had three dogs, two of which are deceased and the third is a stray that she found. She likes to feed and water all the stray and neighbor hood dogs. |

Terry,
Veterinary Technician
Terry has been a vet tech for about six years. Terry was born and raised on the west side of San Antonio. Terry started her career volunteering at animal shelters and then began working at Alamo Dog & Cat Hospital in 2000. Terry has seven (7) dogs and five (5) cats in all sizes and colors. Terry also has two (2) daughters and a husband, so her hands are always full and she wouldn't have it any other way. |
